Sophia Antipolis launches its third competition dedicated to innovative projects

Gathering ideas/solutions for commercial applications based on artificial intelligence.
Presentation
The Communauté d’Agglomération Sophia Antipolis in partnership with the Incubateur Provence Côte d’Azur are organizing the third edition of the SophIA Awards the competition aimed at rewarding the most innovative business creation project/idea in Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Applications for this new national annual event are open until October 6, 2023. The competition is open to all profiles (researchers, employees, students, job seekers, etc.).
How to participate?
- Have an innovative business project integrating and developing new technologies in the field of AI
- Participate in tips starting in July 2023
- Apply online before October 6, 2023
- Present to the jury on November 7, 2023
- Participate in the awards ceremony on November 24, 2023, at the SophIA Summit closing evening.

- Development of own AI technology
- Seriousness and credibility of the innovative business project
- Existing PoC or not
- Registered or unregistered companies
- Ethics clause
Challenge objectives
- Attract young innovators to create innovative startups with high value-creation potential in the field of AI
- Enhance the technological added value of startup projects by connecting them to research laboratories and technology transfer partners
- Integrate the winners into an entrepreneurial training and support program
- Reinforce their visibility within their ecosystems to develop an entrepreneurial culture within Sophia Antipolis itself
- Contribute to the attractiveness of Sophia Antipolis for AI startups
AWARDS CEREMONY
The winner will be announced at the SophI.A Summit 2023, on Friday November 24, at the Mouratoglou Resort.
The jury, chaired by Alan Ferbach, CEO of start-up Videtics, will be made up of highly qualified experts from a wide range of backgrounds: large companies, institutions, researchers and competitiveness clusters.
It will award the winner the following prizes to help develop and market his or her innovation:
- 6 months pre-incubation at the Incubateur Provence Côte d’Azur to clarify the design of the innovative business project
- Visibility in local AI events and media
- Up to €5,000 in funding for external services to validate the design of the innovative business project
- Help in preparing an application to the Startitup 3IA call for projects
- Dedicated SophIA Summit 2023 closing evening (November 24)
- Visibility in local AI events and media
