Thanks to Inria’s expertise in the field of visual sciences andsupport from renowned experts from the medical domain(Professor Stéphanie BAILLIF from Nice Pasteur University Hospital) and the psychophysics domain(Doctor Eric CASTET – Dr CNRS, AMU),Inria is proposing two research and development projects which will build the foundation for new solutions for patients.

These two projects focus on diagnosis and visual aid with a common point: reading. Reading is one of the major needs for patients suffering from AMD. Loss of reading leads to frustration, anxiety, restlessness and can have a significant psychological and cognitive impact.
